La nit del 20 al 21 de juny de 2016 té lloc el solstici d’estiu, que no ha coincidit amb lluna plena en seixanta-set anys. Som al far de s’Estalella, s’Estanyol, i el rellotge marca les 20.43 quan l’índex de la meva mà dreta pitja el disparador de la càmera. És probable que sigui la darrera vegada que fotografiï aquesta coincidència: no tornarà a succeir fins d’aquí a quaranta-vuit anys. És probable que ella tampoc hi sigui; però la imatge té un tercer protagonista: tot i que ningú ho diria, n’Elena està embarassada de dos mesos. És probable que només l’avui nonat pugui veure com el solstici d’estiu i el pleniluni tornen a coincidir.
During the night of 20-21 June 2016 the Summer Solstice takes place, coinciding with a full moon for the first time in sixty-seven years. We are at s’Estalella lighthouse, in s’Estanyol, and the clock reads 20:43 when the forefinger of my right hand presses the camera shutter button. It will take forty-eight years for this coincidence to happen again, so this is, presumably, the last time I capture it. Probably, she might not be here either; but the picture has another participant: Elena is two months pregnant. It is very likely then, that only the one who is still unborn will experience how the Summer Solstice and the full moon fall together.
